The History of the Team
The Flyers were established in 1967 by owner Ed Snider
.
The Flyers made their debut on October 11, 1967 losing 5-1 to the California Seals.
Between 1972 and 1978 the team was given the knickname “The Broad street Bullies because of their location off of Broad street and their hard nose play on the ice.
The team has 2 Stanley cup championships in 1974 and 1975
